Houston dental practice doubles calls from Map

A Houston general dental practice had a thin, partly wrong Google Business Profile. Over eight months we audited it, fixed the details and kept it current, and calls from the listing rose.

01The challenge

Where it started

The practice is a general dental office in Houston with three dentists and one location. It had moved suites two years earlier. The Google Business Profile still carried the old suite number on one listing, and a second, unclaimed duplicate showed a former phone number.

The primary category was "Dental clinic". No services were entered. Hours ignored the Friday half day and the holiday closures. A former office manager had set the profile up, and nobody was sure who held ownership.

This mattered because most new patients first saw the practice in Google Maps. Some called the old number and some went to the wrong suite. The front desk spent time correcting the confusion instead of booking patients.

02What we did

3 phases, one plan

  1. Month 1

    Audit and ownership

We confirmed ownership, requested manager access and wrote up every fix in a profile audit. We reported the duplicate listing for removal and corrected the address and phone number.

  2. Months 2-3

    Categories, services and hours

We kept general dentistry as the primary category and added secondary categories that matched the work. We entered services with short descriptions, set regular and holiday hours, and wrote a plain business description.

  3. Months 4-8

    Upkeep and monthly reporting

We added recent photos of the office and team, replied to new reviews and updated holiday hours ahead of time. Each month the practice received a report of listing changes and call activity.

05Takeaways

What carries over to other businesses

01

Check who owns the profile before changing anything else, because access problems stall every later fix.

02

If you have moved, search for duplicate listings, since old addresses and numbers send patients to the wrong place.

03

Entering services and holiday hours takes little time and gives searchers the details they need to call.
